Neva Sunday
Registered Veterinary Technician
Carbondale Animal Hospital is proud to have Neva Sunday as part of its compassionate veterinary team. Neva joined the practice in May 2024 as a Registered Veterinary Technician, bringing dedication, empathy, and a deep love for animal care to every patient she works with.
Neva grew up in the small mountain town of Leadville, Colorado, where she developed a strong connection to her community and the outdoors. During high school, she learned about the Veterinary Technician Associate degree program at Colorado Mountain College and applied during her senior year. She was accepted into the program and completed the intensive three-year course, graduating in 2024. Wanting to remain close to the mountains she loves, Neva chose to make her home in Glenwood Springs.
Her passion for veterinary medicine was inspired by the sudden loss of one of her childhood pets in 2020. That experience motivated her to pursue a career focused on easing pain and discomfort for animals who cannot help themselves. One of Neva’s favorite aspects of veterinary medicine is witnessing the powerful human-animal bond between pets and their families. She especially loves reuniting patients with their owners and seeing the relief and happiness shared by both.
Neva knew she had found the right profession after helping care for a tiny kitten that had been mauled by a predator. Watching the kitten recover successfully and return to her playful self showed Neva that her compassion, time, and effort truly make a difference in the lives of animals and their families.
Outside of work, Neva enjoys relaxing at the hot springs, hiking through the mountains, and spending time cuddling with her cat, Lila. She also enjoys playing the guitar and expressing her creativity through arts and crafts.
